This class will look at work and kinetic energy.

Find the kinetic energy of the ball when it hits the ground and the potential energy of the ball before it is dropped. Here is some data kindly supplied by Will (Thanks Will). I will be checking this next class.

**March 11/12, 2013**

In this class we will investigate Heat. This is the quiz from class. If you missed class, please complete it online. Here is a website that can give you some information on heat transfer. Here are the notes from today. Work through the problem set. You can check your answers with the solutions. This is the last problem set before the break.

**March 13/14, 2013**

In this class, we will discuss the field trip to Cypress. Here is the quiz from class today. For this field trip, you will be responsible for determining the power of the rope tow and the amount of heat produced when sliding down the hill. In this class, you will have time to determine how you can find this information. Have a look at the assignment and rubric. If you are not going on the field trip, ensure you obtain information from someone who is. It is your own responsibility to find the data and finish the lab.

**March 15, 2013**

**April 2/3, 2013**

We started class with a review true or false. This class, on efficiency, we have a special treat: fill in the blank notes!!! Here are the filled in notes. We watched a clip from 3 Idiots and had a problem taken from this video. Sorry, there was a typo in the assignment for question 3. Here is the updated assignment. Here are the solutions.

**April 4/5, 2013**

Review and Tubing lab due. Labs handed in after this date will receive a maximum of 50%. Remember to write your own conclusion. Groups should not have entirely identical labs.
